Hi everyone,
I’ve just uploaded a new guided practice to YouTube:
The Art of Letting Go
A guided nervous system practice for softening effort and trusting the breath.
This practice is designed to help people stop trying to control their breathing, their body, or their internal state, and instead begin rebuilding a sense of support, safety, and trust.
It is not a “breathing technique” in the usual sense.
There is no need to breathe deeply, slow the breath down, force relaxation, or get anything right. The practice uses orientation, external resourcing, gentle body awareness, support, and non-intervention breath awareness to help the system soften without pressure.
You can use this for your own practice, revisit it when you feel like you are holding too much, or share it with clients, friends, or family members who may benefit from a gentle way to pause and reconnect.
This is also closely aligned with the first style of practice we begin learning in the Breath Resilience Instructor Training, because before we ask people to regulate, control, or build resilience, we first have to help them get our their own way by restoring trust in the body.
Feel free to use it, practise with it, and share it with anyone who may need it.
Martin
